1. Window restrictions have been adjusted to limit it less than 10mm instead of 150mm. ​ 2. Fire risk assessment has been carried out by external company: all recommendations following this have been implemented. ​ 3. Water temperatures are now all controlled using mixer valves restricting the water outlet temperature to less than 43. ​ 4. Medication administration was immediately addressed and is continued to be monitored by manager. ​ 5. All risk assessments are now in place for self-administration of medication and reviewed on a regular basis. ​ 6. Clients nursed in bed are checked regularly by staff this is recorded on the turn charts kept in their rooms. Buzzer system is being used to monitor attendance to rooms. ​ 7. Following winter pressures of sickness, staffing levels are now at full cover. Increased staffing levels are being implemented for care staff, cleaners and admin. ​ We are currently revising audit tools and processes to evidence quality care given at Bethany House.

Not very pleased with this place at all!!! There are two of the staff who are fine but the rest very unwelcoming indeed, my mother is in there recovering after having a fall ,today when I visited her she was very very unhappy and said she was frightened and began to sob.And the icing on the cake was me and my son got took to one side on the way out and got accused of being under the influence of alcohol,she said a member of staff could smell it when we first went in ,to say I wasn’t furious was a under statement!! The two of us can’t drink alcohol because of our medication!!! I’ve been onto my mothers social worker the sooner I get her out of there the better, I’ve given this one star cause of the two staff that are nice.😡😡😡

My mother was a resident in Bethany house and she was exceptionally well cared for. She was able to personalize her room and was offered a number of choices of food when she craved spicy food. I cannot fault the care or attention of the staff and the hard work demonstrated from the matron to the cleaning staff. The home is friendly and homely . I would recommend it

After reviewing lots of care homes, we finally decided on this one Bethany House, Aycliffe. My uncle was there well over a year, and was very happy and content. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help while moving him into his room (which was great). He was cared for extremely well on all levels. My uncle, being a bit of an 'old grouch' at times, must have been very trying, but the staff just got on with it and made him smile, and when I did mention one day if he wanted to come home, he refused point blank! All was spot on, his laundry, his food, his cups of tea and his medication, and all his personal needs. When visiting I always found him clean, shaved and tidy. There were many things for him to join in with and mix and mingle so he could never get lonely (which he actually was while at home). I would not hesitate to use Bethany House again with any other member of my family that required that extra bit of care.

We met the manager here and she was great.. the home was clean and tidy and residents seemed very content.. we were looking for a temporary placement.. but there were none available..it is sad to see one star reviews and, while I understand that everyone has an opinion .. I saw nothing and heard nothing to justify a one star review!. Care Home staff are dedicated and selfless.. the media play on the negatives.. time to get behind our lovely carers..

I have worked in large organisations for delivery of care. Anyone living here or working here should be proud. In 25 years of care I've never seen such a well staffed, well equipped and well trained staff. Residents always appear happy, looked after by so many staff on duty and residents truly treat the home as home. Always something going on for residents.
