I have been prescribed lenses that were completely WRONG! Also frames they recommended were far too small and pinched my head on both sides and were so close to my eyes that my lashes rubbed against them even after being altered twice! A different optician at Boots Portishead re-tested my eyes and found the first prescription wrong and changed it. The second pair of glasses came and the frame they recommended this time was also too small and my short eyelashes (I don’t wear mascara) rubbed on them just as bad, even after they tried to adjusted them, after that they said that there was nothing they could do. The new lenses are worse than the first! I have double vision and I can’t read as everything is very blurred! My eyes feel as though they are being pulled inwards which causes headaches. When I asked for a refund to go elsewhere I was refused by the manager (Adam Bowden) until I handed in the glasses which means I can’t afford new glasses! Since this has been going on since May I had thrown away my very old glasses. He still refused! I am disabled and only have ESA of £110 a week. The full price for the glasses was£650! I went to another optician who retested and confirmed that the prescription I had from Boots is not only useless but wrongly prescribed on 2 counts. DON’T use this optician,!! I haven’t been able to read since May and now it’s almost November!

I went to boots a couple of weeks ago with my son who has special needs. After having a bad experience with a different opticians in Portishead I couldn't believe the difference, considering we're in a pandemic too so that would automatically make it a lot harder they were amazing!! Right from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave it was a 5 star service and a personal one too. I didn't feel like we were being ushered from place to place in a hurry, they were extremely patient and understanding, explaining everything clearly for my son giving him time to prepare for each part of the test. I will definitely be using boots in the future for my family and would highly recommend them. Thank you all so much for being so amazing, helpful and understanding. If there was more than 5 stars I'd give it!!!

Devisha is a fantastic and knowledgeable Optometrist. She has been looking after my son for over 4 years and I wouldn't see anyone else! She's got his vision perfect. All the staff are lovely and so friendly and are a credit to Boots. Well done team

I’ve been a boots contact lens customer for years and this was the first time I’d been told more about my dry eyes and it was not just put down to an intolerance of lenses. Ellie was fantastic and I would highly recommend this opticians.
