I had booked in my car for some minor work following my Mot such was completed here a few weeks before. I had identified the work required after speaking to members of an Audi Owners group. I told the garage what parts I'd provide and what parts I wanted them to order. The car was dropped off and when it was collected the old serpentine belt was still in place (I had requested a new one as the car is high mileage). To be told that if I wanted it to be replaced I could book it in again was not the response I was looking for. The earth problem was still there (fixed by myself by checking the battery terminals) and the car starts perfectly and a new starter motor is not required. (The garage advised this was an issue with the starter motor when I had said it was an earthing problem common to this model). I had asked for the bearing on top of the gear selector turret be replaced. White lithium grease had been liberally applied but this was not what I had requested. The problem is still evident. So the work to replace the alternator clutch pulley was done (and something I couldn't do myself), the other things I requested were not done. The staff are polite, the charges reasonable (just one hour of labour), but communication during the day wasn't good. At pick up, the proprietor pointed out that the interior light was flickering slightly and I have an earth problem. Since I had asked for the earth to be sorted to fix the starting problem, this wasn't great news. But there was no real explanation as to why things were not done when it was booked in well in advance and the parts required had been specified two working days in advance and it was there for the whole day.
