Bright Kids Coughton

Joining the Bright Kids family in 2019 is The Old School Nursery based in Coughton, South Warwickshire.  Close to the town of Alcester and near Redditch, on the border with Worcestershire, the Coughton Nursery has provided quality, friendly childcare services for nearly 10 years. It is now to become part of the Bright Kids group from March 2019.

On the A435 south of Studley, north of Alcester and situated in Sambourne Lane, opposite the historic Coughton Court, the Coughton Nursery offers indoor and outdoor play on a daily basis, providing the children with essential play opportunities to learn from.

The facilities at Coughton include an outdoor classroom and a large playspace that is ready for us to develop further into an interesting environment for children to learn and explore. Indoors, babies have their own dedicated area with activities suitable for their development. Our Toddlers & Pre-school children share a space with integrated learning aimed at their individual learning needs.

We plan to bring all of the experiences that we offer in our other settings to Coughton. Bright Kids are introducing a Curious theme to our learning as well as offering training to the whole team. We will also be looking to continue our adventures in the local area and seeing how we can interact with it through taking walks and joining in with local activities and then we can also go further afield using our own minibus.

The Coughton Nursery is run by qualified, experienced staff who provide quality childcare and pre-school education from 7:30am – 6:00pm. Also flexible part-time hours can be arranged where required.

Indoor play space is provided for your child in specially created age groups and activities are planned to suit their developmental and also learning needs.

We have our Ofsted Registration. Our first inspection and therefore grading can happen anytime within the first 30 months. We have three other nurseries, all Good or better. Our most recent inspection was in January 2018 where we obtained an Outstanding at our Northfield setting. It said:

Staff provide a truly enabling environment and facilitate children’s learning exceptionally

well indoors and outside. Owing to meticulous monitoring, gaps in children’s learning close rapidly and significantly.

Children are extremely confident and they have exciting experiences in the imaginatively resourced environment. Children satisfy their natural curiosity and test their abilities through play with unusual toys and equipment. The added value of these experiences helps children to develop far-reaching skills for their future roles in society. All staff have a very strong understanding of their responsibilities to protect children from harm and to keep them safe.

Teaching flows effortlessly and staff respond instantly to children’s ideas and reshape activities. Children develop extensive personal skills. Staff support children’s confidence and independence. Expert teaching and high expectations of each child contribute to the high levels of attainment in the nursery. Children are extremely self-assured and develop the essential skills for the move on to school.
