I am extremely proud to be the Head of Academy at Smithies Moor. I feel privileged to have been part of the school community for the past eight years and I am passionate about ensuring every child at Smithies Moor is given the chance to develop a curiosity and knowledge of the world, which will enable them to achieve in many aspects of life. Totally incompetent staff! Just approach you out of the blue without any visible ID raising concerns with the parent without actual investigation. Teacher had to ask my child what happened AFTER raising the concern. Then discovered that it was a bullying incident in which one child instigated and my child retaliated in self defence. Despite this continued denying the basic rights of my child when questioned whether it was ok to defend yourself, the teacher says 'no'. No wonder kids feel the way they do. In what world view is it wrong to defend oneself!? What's worse is it is them who should be supervising the children and it should never get to the stage where a child has to defend himself. There was no one in the playground when the incident occurred! Teachers are incapable of safeguarding hence there's no trust in the pupils to report bullying! This was very evident in the conversation. It's simple. I have spent time on my kids so that they never instigate, but do teach bullies a lesson that schools fail to do.

Most horrendous school I've ever witnessed, managed to get my daughter out but I do not know a single parent there who doesn't want their child moved. They don't sort out bullying because they can't be arsed. The school should be shut down and all teachers struck off.
