Canterbury, a cathedral city in southeast England, was a pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages. Ancient walls, originally built by the Romans, encircle its medieval centre with cobbled streets and timber-framed houses. Canterbury Cathedral, founded 597 A.D., is the headquarters of the Church of England and Anglican Communion, incorporating Gothic and Romanesque elements in its stone carvings and stained-glass windows. The steampunk surroundings is absolutely fantastic. Totally loved the ambience. The desserts ordered were all nice, but having eaten here previously, I have got to comment on the reduced portions which have adversely affected the desserts. I ordered the strawberries and banana topped waffle with ice cream. The issue was the ice-cream, the portion was significantly smaller than previous orders provided. This meant the ratios of ice cream to waffle and toppings was completely out. It really needed more ice cream to cut through the richness of the waffle and toppings. I totally understand that everything is more expensive now but by stinting on the ice cream really changed the dessert for the worse. Such a shame.

The interior is magic especially at night. Service, quite impatient. The staff doesn’t seem to be happy working here. Sad—It’s supposed to be a dessert wonderland isn’t it? Gelato is so-so. Chocolate fudge brownie didn’t have any brownie or fudge piece in it. It is just a plain chocolate gelato. Cream rocher tastes much better, with a heavenly hazelnut Nutella flavor— imagine the core of Ferrero Rocher. Unfortunately, both gelato scoops contain quite a lot ice crystals. The texture is below average. Cookie dough is warm and soft, indulgent but really sweet- will be nice to get a just bite from your friend. “No dieting in this area.” I appreciate this quote, but I do eat responsibly, which means— higher standard for higher calorie items :)

My brother and I visited creams with the expectation that the deserts would be good quality and quantity, although for this price the food didn't live up to expectations. Our deserts were both small, especially my cookie dough, and my brothers waffle was flavourless, undercooked, and with the name 'strawberry indulgence' you would expect more than a few strawberries scattered over a plain waffle with some basic chocolate sauce. Very disappointed.

This is the second time that have visited this ‘palace of pudding delight’. To be honest I though that my first visit was just a fluke and that things couldn’t really taste that good all of the time. I was wrong and very pleasantly surprised. The waffle I had (Strawberry fields) was just as tasty as they last choice that I had here, although if you pressed me I could name. The menu and additional choice are extensive and you easily spend a whole day in here sampling all of the delightful food available to you (especially if you enjoy sweet food) The staff are professional, friendly and very quick. They also extremely helpful and understanding. I have a service dog which I am still getting used to and when the staff understood what my dog was they were very accommodating, which I have to say is very refreshing. All in all, the revisit was well worth it and I shall be wending my way back here in the not too distant future - just to make sure that I haven’t steered anyone wrong with my recommendation (no self indulgence on my part of course!!)
