Situated in the picturesque Georgian market town of Alresford just 6 miles from Winchester, D. Barker & Son is a family owned independent jewellers specialising in quality diamond and coloured gem set jewellery as well as antique and pre-owned jewellery.  Many items are listed on this website but there is no substitute for visiting us in person – we would be delighted to show you all we have.

Damon is one of the most highly qualified and experienced gemmologists and diamond graders in Hampshire and, as you would expect, he take’s great care to ensure that the diamonds and coloured gemstones that we select for stock are the best they can be.  Not only that, but as well as the finest sapphires, emeralds and rubies, we keep rare and exotic coloured gemstones that you are unlikely to see in your average Hight Street jewellers.

As for diamonds, we only stock stones that meet our very exacting grading standards.  We don’t compromise on quality and we firmly believe in making your money go further which means that compared to other ‘bricks and mortar’ jewellers locally you can expect to pay much less for diamonds and coloured stones.  Why pay more for ‘ordinary’ when you can have ‘exceptional’ for less?

We also stock Laboratory Grown Diamond set rings, earrings and pendants all set with certified D colour, VS1 stones – our range is unrivalled locally in the Winchester area.

We keep a very comprehensive selection of wedding rings and, as signet ring specialists, we keep a range that is unrivalled in the Winchester area.  Seal engraving has been a particular speciality of ours for many, many years and for rings purchased from us, engraving can usually be completed in 4-6 weeks. We also stock a wide range of contemporary jewellery and silver made in these islands and we are constantly striving to find interesting new pieces and ranges to offer our customers.
