Similar to Kris etc below. Be very wary of this club, I was advised when signing up that if I was to leave within the first 12 months it is 3 months notice, thereafter it is 1 month. Now I am trying to cancel my membership and I’ve been told it’s the other way around… it’s nonsensical that you’d have to give another 2 months notice after being a loyal member for over a year! I haven’t had any response from membership team in the last 3 weeks whilst trying to sort this out. The team on the phone and in the York club are so unfriendly, rude and have absolutely taken full advantage of customers with misleading sales. Several other members I know are in a similar situation. Absolutely disgraceful from the sales and membership team. You’ve got a sales team signing up members on false pretences. £67 a month for a gym where it takes 3 weeks+ and several attempts for someone to even get back to you, toilets that fall off the wall when you sit on them and don’t even flush, no car parking spaces, no kit available during peak hours. Totally shocking. Worst gym I’ve ever been to.

100% reflect the review from Kris below. David Lloyds are very quick to sign you up with a smile (overnight) but as soon as you want to cancel you are hit with having to give 3 months notice (with a threat of debt collectors if you don’t pay) - which they can’t give you any reason for except its in the T&C, which was not explained when you signed up or not explained clearly towards the end of my contract. For me it’s a money grabbing exercise, and I can’t understand why it take 3 months to cancel your membership. I would highly recommend you be carefully with your contract and read all the small print regarding end of contract. I wouldn't return to the club based on the membership been so misleading. This isn't a reflection on the staff at York or the club just poor customer service based around the membership.

Always clean, staff friendly, plenty of sports on offer. Good parking, wheelchair access. There was a barbecue this visit. Gluten free burger and buns with salad. Frederick cooked for us and it was delicious. He was new, gave service with a friendly smile. What an unexpected treat!

The gym is fine but please be very very careful with the membership stipulations especially the small print regarding end of contract, I wouldn't return to the club based on the membership been so misleading. After 12 months there is a clause triggered that you must give 3 months notice, the club is very quick to threaten you with debt collection companies if you dispute anything.Just be mindful of the possibilities, This isn't a reflection on the staff at York or the club just poor customer service based around the membership.

If you are thinking of joining then book for a look around and you will be sold. Thank you Holly for great customer service when we booked in and signed up. There is something for everyone. The staff are so friendly and approachable. We are really happy.
