Dean McKay began the company in 1986 as a man and van service within Nottingham. The company quickly grew and Dean employed his brother Mark for porter assistance.
Inside 12 months Dean began doing removals and had grown to owning 2 Luton vans & a 7.5tn truck – The company rapidly became a trusted, household name within the area.
Now, 34 years on, the company is still growing and we currently operate out of a 20,000 square foot Storage & office facility in Mapperley – This puts is in a prime location for moving within the East Midlands.
We are a true family business with Dean, his wife, son, daughter, son in law and brother all working for the business. Each year we work hard to deliver a high level of service and expertise to all of our customers.
Investing in the business year on year, from our vans to our warehouse we endeavour to continue to build on our fantastic reputation as one of the foremost moving and storage companies in the East Midlands.

Laura Disney1 StarWouldn’t recommend Dean McKay at all. Paid for packing and moving and it was a total waste of money.
We ended up packing our belongings ON THE DAY we moved ourselves. We paid extra to include a packing service - Not only had they not packed on the day we moved, the items they had packed has been thrown into boxes, not wrapped or folded down and broken - it was careless.
Didn’t wrap any fragile items for packing but instead wrapped a half drank bottle of cordial?! It was beyond a joke.
We also paid extra to have the beds built again once we’d moved - they put the beds together in the wrong room TWICE! Then conveniently left quickly without us being able to check - we ended up having to take the beds down and put them up ourselves?!
Despite outlining to everyone who moved us that day that the furniture was custom made and imported they still managed to damage every item of furniture…..

Dean was very accommodating when my move date changed at short notice.
The packers arrived the day before to box everything up, they were very careful and respectful of my belongings, making sure anything fragile was wrapped with paper or bubblewrap and all boxes were clearly labelled.
Movers arrived the following morning right on time and again worked carefully and respectfully.
Everyone was friendly and cheerful, exactly what I needed during such a stressful event! Nobody seemed to mind about the delay before I could get the new keys (think I was the only panicking about it!), and the unloading was done quickly and efficiently.
Can't thank Dean and his team enough, if I ever move again you'll be the ones I call!Monday 8th August 2022

From when I first requested a quote through to completion of the job, Dean was extremely helpful and always got back to me very quickly. As I live in a second floor flat with no lift and there are parking restrictions on the street outside, this was not the most straightforward job. However Dean was very flexible in arranging an early start time to accommodate the parking issues and his team were extremely efficient and professional. The quote itself was also very competitive.
