At Dysart Nursery we believe the foundation for healthy eating begins by teaching children where food comes from and which foods are healthy and un-healthy.Your child can take part in our own vegetable patch where they can plant seeds and watch them grow. Imagine their excitement when they come to ‘harvest’ their crop and take home their very own carrot which has been grown by them and then ‘hopefully’ eaten by them. We believe that this is without doubt the best way to encourage children to ‘eat their greens’.We also have a number of miniature fruit trees in our garden – apples, pears and figs. The trees are ‘miniature’ so that children can reach the branches and (with adult supervision) eat the freshest fruit available! Our staff are all carefully selected, fully qualified and receive ongoing training to ensure that they are constantly up to date with the latest legislation and childcare guidelines. You will find that all members of staff have a genuine vocation in childcare and will build caring and friendly relationships with your child. They will also listen and respond to your child on an individual basis. We all know that as soon as you pick up your little one from Nursery or Pre-school you ask the question ‘what did you do today’ and the answer in many cases is ‘nothing’. This really wont be the case in reality they have probably been having so much fun they just want to go home and relax. You can keep a track of all the things your child has been learning as we display lots of photographs and the children’s handy work for you to see.We hold parents evenings three times a year and you often have days where you are invited to come and play alongside your child. Of course if you have anything you would like to know in between times you are always welcome to speak to a member of staff at any time. You can also read a copy of our monthly newsletter which is displayed on the parents notice board along with other information about Nursery Life. We offer a wide variety of activities all of which are age and stage appropriate. From painting and shape sorting to gardening and reading we have lots to offer all ages.Your child will get involved in all aspects of Nursery life and we will actively gain their views by asking them what they would like to create and what resources they would like to use. At the same time we will also support them in trying new activities to help develop their independence and decision making skills. We also have a secure outdoor area which the children love playing in. Your child will become an active learner and be encouraged in lots of different ways – one of our most popular activities is growing vegetables in the vegetable patch and exploring the soil to see what they can find.Even young babies are made to feel valued for their communications, their babbles will be responded to just like you would at home. All children are encouraged and taught to share the resources with their friends and also to show kindness to each other. We have lots of people visit the Nursery to share their knowledge and help the children learn new things. Some of the people to recently visit us have been local Lollipop people who have helped teach the children all about crossing the road safely. We have also had local members of the National Health Service come in and talk to the children about the importance of taking care of their own hygiene. They showed them how to keep their hands clean by using special hand washing procedures. Dysart Nursery first opened its door back in September 2002 based in the heart of Drayton. We are extremely proud of the reputation we have built in the local Drayton area for providing high quality childcare and education and for being somewhere that a child enjoys being and settles quickly. You will find we have all the facilities that you need for a Nursery including large bright play rooms where the children can enjoy role play, messy and creative activities as well as a secure outside area which is home to our vegetable patch and fruit trees which the children enjoy harvesting their own fruit and vegetables. We also have a fully equipped kitchen for heating meals and storing packed lunches, a sleep room for those that need a nap.Our aim is to actively promote your child’s welfare, learning and development. We do this by ensuring that all children are included in everything we do.To ensure that your child has the best possible care and education all of our Nursery Staff all hold appropriate early years qualifications.Based in the heart of Drayton we have close links with all of the local schools as well the Health Visiting Team and Portage. We all work together to improve the quality of early years education and support young children and their families in our local community. You are welcome to visit the Nursery and see us in action please just use the ‘Contact Us’ page to get in touch for an appointment.

My son has been going to the nursery for the last 5 months and in the beginning, he was very attached to us and would bring the world down when we dropped him off. The staff were kind and understanding, they worked with us and have managed to get him settled in very well. Keep up the good work guys..

My son has attended this amazing nursery for the past 2 years. His development has been outstanding and the staff has been so supportive and passionate about his developmental progress. The nursery has just undergone a refit so I can only imagine that is what the negative woman below was bleating on about. Whenever you enter the day centre the children are so happy, that is clear to see. Now, with all the new additional features in the nursery there is so much to do. The staff are such warm, friendly individuals I never had any doubt about this nursery or looked anywhere else after my first visit. Thank you Dysart xx

My son has been at Dysart Nursery for 2 years now and my daughter is about to start. I chose this nursery as it is nice and small with a lovely family atmosphere. All the staff are kind and friendly and look after the children well. Much nicer than the larger nursery's.

I came here with my daughter to look at a 'warm and loving' environment for my grandson who is due in April. But instead I found a horrid nursery. as soon as we knocked on the door we had to wait ten minutes, which we thought was normal at first until a woman came out on the phone and stared at us as if to say 'what do you want'. She didn't say anything until we asked about our appointment which she didn't even check to see if we already had one or not, we did, but what if we didn't? She should have known if we had one anyway because it is her responsibility. We walked into the nursery and the first thing myself and my daughter spotted was a piece of plastic on the torn up garden, yes the garden was also a huge mess and covered in dirt it was a state! I picked up the plastic and handed it to the same woman who answered the door for us and handed it to her, all she said was 'thank you' as though I were handing her a present and threw it away. When we walked through into the area for babies, I looked up and noticed their were enormous cobwebs all over the ceiling and the lights. We then headed into the baby area and saw they had all been put down on the floor or in their rocking chairs, another woman explained to my daughter after they eat they have to sleep. But they were all being forced to sleep because they were being faced towards walls so they were bored enough to go off, my daughter was then taken over to a corner where she said she spotted to infant girls being shoved in the corner in their rocking chairs made to sleep facing away from everyone which I found horrid. What if they did not want to sleep? The atmosphere was uncomfortable because of how zombified all the children seemed to be, as though they had the life sucked out of them. Another woman told us that there actually was a sleeping area for the babies upstairs but did not offer my daughter the chance to go up and look around, we had even passed a toddler area and didn't have the chance to look in their either as they seemed to want to rush us back out straight away. The only thing we looked at was the baby area and then my daughter had the leaflet shoved in her hands and was told about the 100 pound deposit without much explanation of anything whatsoever, the woman who showed us around seemed young and thrown in the deep end as if none of them were expecting us when we made a clear appointment for 2:00pm. I suggest you NOT bring your child here, it is disgusting, dirty, there are many safety hazards and too many steps and bumps in the pavements for children to walk around safely. You could do something a lot better with your money and the reason why this place is still running, I have no clue. This is someone inexperienced who has bought a house and made it into a nursery, they do not care or know much about what they are doing I would never bring my children here, ever. They were very unprofessional, inexperienced and I wouldn't even board my dog there. The people who bring their children here and are okay with these circumstances shock myself and my daughter, they must either be really desperate or they do not care.

I`m very pleased with the service that Dysart nursery offers to my family. The manager Samia Mcminn & staff are very helpful, friendly and supportive. They`ve always been happy to answer all my questions, book additional sessions and do changes in schedule. All my three children have settled down really quick and are happy to attend every session. In my opinion this is the best little nursery in local area where kids entertain, socialize and prepare themselves for school. I`ve recommended it to my friends and they find it a good place for their children as well.
