Discover Belfast and its surroundings by car

One of the most popular attractions in Belfast is the Titanic Museum. The building is shaped like a liner from some angles. It is situated on the slipways in an area where the original vessel was built and launched. It offers an interactive tour spread through nine galleries where you can experience the sights, sounds, smells and stories of the ship. In the same area you can also take a tour of the SS Nomadic, the only surviving vessel of the White Star Line.

St. Anne’s Cathedral is a gracious building based in a quarter with cobbled streets and great bars. There are many good places to eat in the city as well as traditional pubs. Belfast has several parks including a botanic garden. There are also some enjoyable walks possible on the outskirts varying from easy strolls to tougher hikes. So, park your Europcar car or van and check out Carnmoney Hill, The Garden Trail, Creagagh Glen, or steeper walks such as Cave Hill.

There are many memorable places just a short drive away. Killough is a charming village with the Ballynoe Stone Circle from the Neolithic age close by. Antrim Castle on the banks of the Six Mile Water is set in beautiful gardens. Carrickfergus has an older castle as well as a dockside which has a European flavour. Donaghadee is known for its lighthouse and beautiful sunsets. Lough Neagh is Britain’s largest lake and a great spot for picnics. Seamus Heaney fans will want to visit Bellaghy, the tiny rural village where he was born. Lough Beg and its nature reserve and Church Island are nearby.

Appalling additional charges but good standard vehicle. We got stung by three additional fees, all of which were unreasonable. The biggest one to watch out for is the CROSS BORDER FEE. For what is essentially a quick paper form to sign off, they charge over £20 per day! This is buried in the depths of the Ts and Cs, completely hidden to any normal customer. The second charge was scandalous but has, after complaining, been refunded. They decided to charge £70 for an out of hours fee when we picked up the car at 1:55pm on a Sunday.... Their 'opening hours' were 2pm - 9:30pm. Really, really poor. The icing on the cake is the 'premium station' surcharge that adds another 20% onto these additional fees. I've hired cars many times before and this has been the only time I've suffered from such punitive charges. The only saving grace was the good standard of car (although it could have been cleaner). Overall pricing of car hire out of Belfast International Airport is massively skewed too

I have high expectations from a high performing brand. If it was from a random company it would have been alright. First, I could not link my booking to my account and even I spent time and contacted the CS, they just didn't care at and replied after weeks saying your rental is closed now! As if they didn't even read my message. Second, there was a very long line at the pick-up counter, we waited for about 30 minutes. The staff were not too friendly at arrival but those in the return section were amazing. I understand it could have been a long day for the pick-up staff. We were not even told what are the fuel policies and some other details. The counter was inside the airport which was great. The car, a VW Polo was almost new and we really enjoyed it, however, it was not too clean with loads of marks outside and some inside. For less price we could hire from other rentals who also had a counter at the airport. The return was really smooth and the deposit was released in 24 hours after return. Would use again if I have spare money! As it would be cheaper with other competitors.

Helpful staff at Arrivals. Easy directions to find the car pick up. Had to wait a few minutes at Pick Up for a staff member but other than that it was a very good experience. Provided with a Seat Leon which was a nice car to drive. Would have liked a bit more headroom as I'm 6'8" tall; legroom was fine. Very economical on petrol too. I traveled 61 miles over two days and only used a fifth of the fuel tank, costing just £11 to refuel prior to return. I would definitely use Europcar again.

Staffs are very nice and helpful. Though I came to Europcar at last minute due to unavailability of the car which I reserved with other provider, staffs at Belfast airport made my life easier and checked quickly for car availability and secured one for me in no time.

Arrived at desk , My booking was through ryanair , I paid 300 plus an additional 60 for full protection insurance for my policy. Europcar told me then I had to pay an extra 100 to have their insurance??? Of course I didn't take it, I already paid for it through ryanair package. I was fully covered on my certificate from them. I also found out that I would have to pay an extra 186 if I wanted to cross the border into republic to visit family even if I was only going to cross border for one day out of 7 which seemed ridiculous??? On their website it says 1-2 days £36??? Other firms I used before this is all included. Of course I didn't take it. I considered cancelling and The lady didn't know how to do it, then another lady told me they'd charge me £50 if I'd like to cancel and I'd have to get a refund for the car hire from ryanair because it's nothing to do with them??? I however continued paying no extras . Car wasnt there when I went to pick it up in the row A stated, it was still being serviced had to pick up at service area after looking for 15 mins ?? Anyways called them up to double check, if it was possible to add cross border for only one day. I got three different answers from three different agents one was also the manager, completely clueless??? I ended renting another car from Desmond's motors in Derry , which I highly recommend! Just for one day to cross border with no hidden fees and they knew exactly what they were doing and knew their products. Anyways, I won't be back to Europcar in a hurry, some staff training needed.
