Fountain lodge is a lovely nursing home. My mum is very happy and settled here. The staff are very professional, friendly, caring and they go above and beyond.

Shocked! I went in on the off chance to view the care home for a family member. Not welcoming or inviting at all, it was a case of 'do you want to show them round or shall?' - 'you can'. I wasn't asked any questions about the family member and their situation. Had a limited tour. I was told it was being refurbished, which may be the case but it smelt of urine and looked scruffy all over. I was told hardly anything about the care they offer, the staff seemed totally uninterested from start to finish. When it was explained my family member has had a stoke the response was 'bless'. No professionalism. I don't feel she was in the right job. Was quickly shown to the door. Couldn't believe it in comparison to other local care homes. Avoid!

Really disappointing. Recently visited with regards to a family member potentially joining the home. We were welcomed by a grumpy looking gentlemen who literally said the words "erm okay?" when we walked through the door. He then passed the job to another colleague and walked off with no further achknowledgement. There was a strong smell of urine throughout the entire building and that was with all windows open! If you are reading this and consider bringing a loved one, please ensure you look elsewhere first if you want the best care for them.
