It is close to the bus station, Calton Hill, and we can walk to the downtown. Room is not so big, but cute and clean. I like it very much;)

The location is perfect....right at the foot of Calton Hill... Bus stop right in front of the door. Just around the corner is the great Elm Row Cafe with great breakfasts and a great pub in the evening for dinner or a drink.... We had the large room and therefore enough space, a coffee machine in the hallway and our own small fridge.... Since we arrived very early, we just wanted to leave our luggage, but we were lucky because the room was already prepared...so we could freshen up and go... The room and the bathroom are really very cold, but we had a small electric heater, which provided heat very quickly...we also got the bathroom very, very warm... We had several contacts with the landlords and they were very nice and helpful.

I had the pleasure of meeting and seeing the owner only on the first day, but this was my fault as I practically went out in the morning at eight and returned home at 10 in the evening. This Guest house is located very close to Calton Hill, and 10/ 15 minute walk from Waverley station, therefore easily accessible even with large luggage. As this is a house, breakfast is not included, in any case the owner in the hallway at the entrance to the structure provides a coffee machine with some pods (you need to leave a coin of £ 0.50) also in this small hallway, he also provides a refrigerator is available in case you want to keep something cool, such as milk, juice or other. The room is really tiny, to give you an idea it is difficult to open a large trolley on the floor, as doing so prevents the passage to reach the other end of the bed. Even the shower is really tiny and furthermore after three days spent there it is still incomprehensible to me how the hot-cold water mixer works in the shower itself, but it seems that the British are really against the simplification of lukewarm water. It was not clear to me whether the towels were changed, as the owner in the e-mail with the detailed instructions for accessing and using the room did not provide me with any information on the matter. And being my first time staying in a guest house, I didn't want to run the risk of leaving the towels on the floor and, if they hadn't been changed, reusing them even dirtier than I left them already. Another sore point, again with reference to the bathroom, is the cold you felt during the shower... In fact, this one has no heaters, and being the guest house in a "basement" you suffer a lot from the cold. For Italian friends: you don't need to bring adapters for electrical outlets. In fact, even if the plugs have three holes, two at the bottom and one at the top, to insert the classic plug you use for the iPhone or to charge the camera, just insert something sharp into the upper hole, even a pen is fine. and so the two protection plates of the two lower holes will be lowered. In doing so, insert your plug and you're done. Therefore I advise you not to spend money on a purchase that will later prove to be superfluous.
