“When I opened Mango Indian all those years ago, I came with a strong vision and more than a sense of ambition.

Located in the historic Cromwell Buildings, constructed in 1864 and housing some of the earliest and most successful examples of low-cost housing in London, the area alone had an allure for me.

Just a few minutes from London Bridge, said to be the oldest crossing of the River Thames on record, the impressive Shard, the tallest building in the UK to being a mere stone’s throw from the famed Borough Market, where the original market opened back in the 12th century.

My wish was not only to make Mango Indian the most talked about Indian restaurant in the area, but also the finest – and it worked beyond expectations!

Since then, Mango Indian has come up in leaps and bounds. With its fine balance of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes, intimate, understated surroundings, convivial atmosphere and friendly service, the restaurant has become synonymous with locals, tourists and lovers of Indian cooking as the place to go to.
