Stand With Ukraine

Everyone wants to do their bit to support those who have been forced to flee their homes because of the invasion. #StandWithUkraine

It is not often that I feel as I do now, the terrible war that is happening in Ukraine at the moment has us all worried and concerned for the people of Ukraine. We all want to do our bit and help as much as we can. One way we feel we can help at Mendip Autoserve is by using our platform to raise as much money for the Red Cross, to enable them to purchase as much as they need to support the victims of the war.

With this in mind Mendip Autoserve will donate £100 from the profit of every car sale to the Red Cross. The Red Cross is part of the government scheme which will match any donation. So for our £100, £200 is actually donated.

Every donation helps and we hope that our commitment to this cause gives others hope and resources they need.

To enable all our customers to see how our fundraising is going over the next few weeks, here is our Just Giving page. If you would like to make your own personal donation to the appeal please do.

Please copy this link to our just giving page should you wish to make a personal donation.

Gary was very helpful and took time to ensure I was completely happy with the car . When I picked it up the outside and interior were spotless and the paperwork was ready . Very efficient service. It is so nice to have good after sales service he is sorting some issues for me and is keen to address these issues quickly. Thank you Gary I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Mendip autoserve again.

Highly recommended. This is an extremely well run business that only buys good used stock. The car I purchased was 10 years old and was absolutely as good as advertised. Gary is a genuine fella, friendly, extremely trustworthy and very very helpful. He makes buying a car the pleasure it should be and I consider myself lucky to have found a used car dealer you can genuinely trust.

Sold a complete wreck/faulty car after driving 200 miles and being told over the phone it was fine! Then was lied to about warranty. I called up Mendip prior to driving up to make sure the car was all good and was given promising expectations on the vehicle. Drove 200 miles and arrived and the car was smoking badly, on the journey back it developed a fault code to which point I called them up and was told that THE CAR DID NOT COME WITH A WARRANTY and they were not obliged to do anything. After threatening them with information from citizens advice they were forced into giving me £200 to fix the problems which should have been looked at before the car was sold to me and on their forecourt for 6 weeks! Even after spending this to fix the vehicle it has now blown a gasket and they are no longer responding to my emails. UPDATE TO RESPONSE BELOW: This vehicle was on their forecourt for 6 weeks and started breaking down after 30 miles, the windscreen wash hose was not connected (3 points) tyre was barely legal and smoke was bellowing out the back. By law UK dealers are required to offer a 3 month warranty on vehicles regardless of price and Mendip tried to wiggle their way out of this by tricking me into signing a document and rejecting to fix the vehicle at first. Once I contacted citizens advice they confirmed that the dealer legally has to fix/repair the vehicle, Mendip 'Offered a GOOD WILL GESTURE' as they knew they had legally been forced to do this. The problem is still present and mendip asked me to DRIVE a BROKEN vehicle 200 miles back to their garage!!!! Buyers can learn from this that Mendip only care about high spending customers so it worries me to the extent how much you have to spend to get a car that hasnt been ignored and is not fit for the road.
