I've experienced several members of the leadership in OCC in various guises. They are a dangerous church built on idolatry, ego and power. They control those who disagree. They seek adulation for community driven initiatives and bully others who they feel step in their way. They have good people in the congregation but there is dark spirituality going on here. Wolves in sheeps clothing. I pray for a changing of the leadership and that true Christ focused ministers step in.

I joined OCC on arriving in Oxford as a student, and it’s been my spiritual home for 10 years and counting. I was drawn to the faithful Bible teaching, focus on discipleship, openness to the Holy Spirit, warm welcome (community is our middle name!), and a heart to serve the city and beyond.

Beware ,Fake racist Church leadership! I attended this Church for 7 years Steve Jones and his wife are wolves in sheep clothing. They are all about themselves and money! They are building a clubhouse for themselves, this is not a church, not the gospel Christ taught. They have a group of self glorified elders and ex Oxford University student followers to support them! This is not a community church , it is a clan of white people, they target which ethnic minority they want to be friendly with.If you are an ethnic minority you will be micro managed. It about their prophecy and God only talks to them and they tell you what to do.You will be controlled by white middle class fools who will treat you lowly if you are an ethnic minority or lower class. My daughter was born when we attended this church.Throughout the pregnancy Steve Jones never spoke to us, after our daughter was born he never came to speak or congratulate us.But he can stand on the pulpit and peach like an idiot , God loves you! 7 years in that church, Steve Jones only said hello to me 8 times, never had a conversation with me.Says a lot about his Community leader job title. Fake Christians! Al McNicoll, the assistant pastor was a home group leader when I attended , he has never spoken to me.I approached him once and asked if I could join his house group, he said 'I don't know when is the next meeting, I'll find out ' and never came back to me'.After that he would avoid eye contact with me for few years! I suppose he didn't want black people visiting his home. Now he has been made the assistant pastor.Recently , I asked how many ethnic minorities are in OCC leadership on their Facebook page, they kicked me off their Facebook page the next day. This is why Oxford has a Black church in Cowley! The only thing they do in this church is fake prayers and fake prophecies Steve Jones, Al, and Andy should do the correct thing and step down for true Christian leaders to lead this church. This review is about the Church leaders, leadership team and their cliques when I was there. I had many good, genuine, nice friends/ Christians in the congregation that will be missed.

A wonderful church full of wonderful people who love God and the Community.. I and my family joined this Chirch just over four years ago because We believe God wanted us to be part of this Church and from the day we set our feet at The King Center, we have been blessed by ministry of the word of God delivered to us not only by Pastor Steve and leaders at OCC but also by A wide number of Ministers from all backgrounds including Africa, Asia and Poland to name but a few who all have shared God’s word through love, humility and meekness. As a family we have been accepted and appreciated. And we have developed good fellowship with some members at Church. Like any other relation, it takes both parties to work towards building a trusted relationship.. which over the years we have been working at developing such and one way I have involved myself a lot was to use my passion of cooking to bless others and I have participated in catering for a number of Functions at Church over the years.. and I remember vividly when I included Zimbabwean dishes which were enjoyed by many who gladly tried something new from other cultures. At OCC, like in any other church, giving of offering and tithes has been encouraged but the decision to take that faith to the next level and to owner God by way of Worship him through ‘Giving of Tithes and Offering’ has always been left to individuals members to make that personal free-will choice and decision as they feel convicted in that Area as they walk With God...As we felt home at OCC It has been a blessing to commit ourselves without feeling pressurised One way or the other.. Every Saturday evening our children have always looked forward to go to church the following morning and they’re usually the first to get ready and after the service they’re the last out the door.. (Except over the last few years when I have to take My daughter only while my husband takes our son to his football games which he prays that they would scheduled on Saturdays instead of Sunday Mornings) How happy was he when he started attending Youth meetings every Friday Evenings.. I remember one Friday when he cried because we couldn’t take him to the meeting. I had to assure him that it was beyond our control but we would always make an effort to drive him every Friday to the youth.. thus how much as children they feel loved and cared for at Church.. I remember a few weeks of him going to these Friday youth meetings, when we had a conversation with Mckaddesh about friendships and that it takes sometime to know everyone.. at the age of 12, he expressed that for him he was happy and content with those who have made friendships with him but also appreciated those he hasn’t Starting that they are really good people.. We were humbled by his way of thinking and positivity when he concluded the discussion by saying..”I go to church for one thing only.. that I may learn to know God.. I don’t have to be friends with everyone and in turn I don’t expect everyone to be my friends..As long as we all have Jesus as our friend thus all that matters and all that we seek after” Wise son.. I will conclude my review by saying that... God has brought us to Oxford Community Church and unless He says .. “You have tarried here for too long, break camp and advance to a place I shall show you..” We’re here to stay and serve our faithful Master, Lord and saviour in however way he desires of us.
