With foundations established in 2003, RED has worked with clients throughout Scotland, the Central Belt and our local Glasgow area with specialist construction design and Civil & Structural Engineering requirements for a broad range of projects. We are a small growing firm of professionals civil and structural engineers providing a bespoke tailored multidisciplinary design service with a dedicated point of contact. We have extensive project experience and specialise in the domestic residential sector including new build housing, home extensions, layout remodelling and alterations to existing properties loft conversions and full renovation of existing buildings, no project is too small for our team. Our residential expertise is complemented with large scale commercial project experience in a wide variety of sectors including social housing, health care, hotel and leisure, industrial manufacturing, energy-battery energy storage facilities,  warehouse distribution and retail development. Working with construction professionals including Architects, Surveyors, Contractors, Developers and Homeowners for residential and commercial construction projects.  ​" We stay in a beautiful but very tired period house in Glasgow's West End.   When we met Robert he immediately gave us sound structural advice and up to date pointers on the process of applying for a building warrant. RED clearly knew their stuff and was able to come back quickly to take accurate measurements and discuss design ideas.  RED put together plans swiftly which allowed us to get our project moving quickly. Robert at RED helped us to see how we could achieve a modern but sympathetic ground floor. We also loved the fact that we were dealing with one person: Robert is a structural engineer, who also did the technical drawings and liaised with Glasgow's Building Control Department. This was a breath of fresh air!  A lovely experience a practice with great ideas and skills. I would highly recommend RED "

Robert was recommended to me by the builder I used for the project on my house I purchased last year. The work involved the removal of 2 load bearing walls downstairs (one of which was the chimney breast) to make the full downstairs open plan, and a redesign of the bathroom upstairs to make it bigger and a more functional space. The services Robert provided were superb. He was very professional, and it was easy to tell he had a vast knowledge of the work involved. I had an idea of what I wanted to do with the house, Robert was able to take this and develop a better plan and made recommenations, for the bathroom in particular, I hadn’t previously thought of. The drawings he produced were spot on and after the initial wait for acceptance by the council were approved very quickly with minimal alterations required. He has always been available for any questions I have had and since the plans were approved has kept in touch and visited the house to ensure the work carried out met the standards in his drawings. Couldn’t recommend Robert enough to anyone with a similar project.

We first hired Robert to carry out a structural report on a wall we wished to remove in our flat. After finding out the wall was not load bearing, we thought we could go ahead with the work. However, Robert suggested we get in touch with the council first to see if we needed a building warrant, which we surprisingly did! Impressed with his wealth of knowledge and providing us with reliable and valuable information, we hired Robert for a second time to complete the building warrant application for our flat. This is our first renovation project but he has made the whole building warrant process so smooth, straight forward and understandable! He has given such a professional and knowledgable service and his communication has been fantastic throughout. I couldn't recommend Robert highly enough!

Following a friends recommendation, I appointed RED Scotland for the building warrant drawings package and every step of the process has been amazing. This was my first project by myself and Robert explained every step clearly and reassured me the full way. I had every confidence in the recommendations I was provided with and it was extremely clear how much knowledge he had. Robert has made the process very quick and easy and always answered any queries I had on the same day which has been great. He has been extremely responsive and answered all of the questions I had during the process and I could not recommend them any more. He has provided such a personal and professional service and I am delighted with the result of the drawings and how quickly the warrant was accepted.
