Comprehensive refurbishment includes paint removal,  full draught-proofing, easy slide inserts, new cords, weight adjustment, joint reinforcement and and all new beads and furniture and can cost as little as £320 per window (smaller windows in multiple window orders).

Whatever the condition of your windows call 07917 665181 to arrange an obligation free site survey and quote which will be delivered by email within 24 hours.

Effective draught proofing, reduced heat loss, elimination of rattles, enhanced security and prolonged window life are all benefits of a typical restoration.

Specialist materials and tools enable us to offer a service as complete as the big brands but with the greater accountability and lower costs of a small business.

Your original Box sash windows may well be showing signs of their age but the quality of the original timber and modular design allows us to take them apart and replace and repair only those parts which have decayed or worn out.

It may be surprising to hear that we find an astonishing level of decay in newer replacement windows fitted perhaps within the last 5-12 years and very frequent examples of original Victorian windows with very little rot.

I recently surveyed the 100 year old windows of a recently purchased house in Richmond where almost all of the paint had flaked off the windows leaving bare wood. There was very little evidence of decay in the Douglas Fir sash box and sashes and none on the Oak cill which although heavily riven by weathering was, like the rest of the windows a prime candidate for restoration.

Call 07917 665181 to arrange a free evening or weekend survey and detailed quotation to restore your windows to full functionality. Quotes are usually emailed within 24 hours.

Effective traditional window repair is highly skills intensive and requires specialised supplies and techniques. Our skills and experience combined with the latest technology in rotten timber replacement, draught sealing, double glazing and other areas will ensure that your traditional windows will last for many years to come.

Full replacement of box-sash windows can be both expensive and disruptive so our objective is to renovate if reasonably possible. Renovation requirements are, of course very subjective and details of the options and possibilities are shown on other pages.

We had 18 windows refurbished over a two week period and the disruption was minimal. The windows look great and we are delighted with the outcome – John’s craftsmanship and attention to detail is impressive. We can’t really believe how much quieter and warmer the house is; we should have done this years ago! Kevin Goodwin, Ealing W5

The difference since John and his team overhauled and draft proofed the windows is amazing. It has not only improved the environment in the rooms concerned but has made a noticeable difference to the whole of the ground floor of the house. I wish we had done it years ago. Also, It is difficult to calculate in monetary terms how much we are now saving on the gas usage but I would expect it to be significant. In terms of service John produced an estimate very quickly after his survey and only included those items that really needed to be rectified. He kept to that in the execution and his workmanship is first rate – including a follow up visit. I cannot recommend him highly enough and would certainly prefer to deal with someone as hands on as John in preference to a larger company – who are also more expensive in my experience. Gordon and Liz Martin. Ealing W13

Thanks for the windows. they are great and it was a pleasure having you here. Guy Reid, (Earls Court)

My decorator expected to spend at least a day on the windows depending on how you left them, he was finished by 1.30 and unbelievably complementary of your workmanship. I will be in the property tomorrow morning for a final check and am looking to pay tomorrow pm. Warm regards, Peter Morgan (Trevor Street Knightsbridge).

Thanks John, the windows are excellent, The house is so much quieter now” (Dudley Desbororough – Fulham).
John and his team have done several jobs for me, the workmanship was outstanding, the price always fair, and the service exemplary. The highest quality work always delivered with a smile! (Ian Winton London W3).

“John’s craftsmanship was excellent and we were very pleased with the results. The carpentry detail was very impressive, and he was also careful to minimise disruption within the house.” (Ben Brabyn Fulham).

We moved to the Pitshanger area in 2003 and since then have used John’s services on several occasions. The quality of his work is excellent and the communication he always gave was of a very high order.
We have no hesitation in recommending John to our friends, colleagues, clients and relatives.” (Stephen Groves Ealing W5).

John has handled umpteen projects for us over the years so we know you are a rare craftsman who works tidy, and works smart. Always a perfectionist, extremely practical and good value. (Jillian and Peter Malone Ealing W13).

A very high quality service We have used John once before and found him very good. This time, we had thought the windows in question too far gone for refurbishment, but he convinced me to try. He refurbished a four sash flat window and two large bay windows within the promised time, to a very high standard and with no mess. Our cleaner recommends his standards of cleanliness. I thought the price very reasonable.

I’ve used John to refurbish sash windows in two separate properties over the years. After getting various companies round initially to quote for the first project, John stood out straight away with his attention to detail and simple explanation what needed to be done for each window’s needs. The majority of companies I had round simply wanted to rip out the original single glazing and reinstate all new sash windows. This is not only very expensive but totally unnecessary when you can do localised repairs that keep the originality of all the windows and upgrades which stop draughty. Once John finished his refurbishment of the first project I noticed straight away how much warmer the property was and all the draughts had gone. I wouldn’t hesitate in the slightest in recommending his services to anyone wanting to refurb their sash windows. He does a quality job for a fair price which is rare these days !

We recently had a few of our 100 year old sash windows refurbished by John - since when we have had storms Brendan and Ciara - and we have not had a single draft through those windows for the first time in 20 years! Excellent work - on time, on budget, no fuss and top workmanship. Highly recommended. And Thanks!

John was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish, and following his site recce to survey the windows, I knew I had found the right man for the job. Highly knowledgable, advised on areas I hadn't even considered, delivered a very reasonable quote and then set to work. Within five days we had seven fully restored sash windows and five new hardwood sills. All of the windows now open and close properly and have wonderful new draft excluders, catches and locks. John and his assistant Tony are real craftsman, work like trojans and are hugely respectful whilst working in your home, leaving the place spotless each night. My advice would be - look no further than John the "Sashmaster"!

John, truly is the "Sashmaster"!! We had put up with the problems of our two large bay windows at the front of our Edwardian semi for some time. The windows on the ground floor in particular were noisy ( even in a slight wind) and a huge source of heat loss on the winter in particular. The ground floor sitting room was always very cold - OK in the Summer but not so clever for Christmas lunch for example! In summary, "Problems with your sashes? Call The Sashmaster"!
