St James Academy is a truly comprehensive school embracing the talents of all its students. We are determined to become a centre of excellence for young people who live in central Dudley and all the surrounding areas of Dudley and Sandwell. The philosophy is simple: we will ensure the success of all our learners through outstanding teaching and positive behaviour. Over the past two years, our GCSE results have improved significantly, with particular success in English, Mathematics and the sciences.
It is on the sports field that he has really excelled, however. As well as being an integral member of many of the Academy’s teams, he has also taken on the role of School Sports Captain and has played a vital part in organising teams and practices for other year groups.
He is a lead member of the Y10 Student Voice team and has proven to be both a role model for his peers and an ambassador for the academy when performing his duties. None of this has distracted him from his studies; he continues to make excellent academic progress and to be a model of self-discipline and diligence.
She has made excellent academic progress across a range of subjects, her behavior record is unblemished and she has taken a full part in a number of performance-based activities in the Academy. She is fully supportive of other students and goes out of her way to help them wherever possible.
She was an enthusiastic participant in a series of workshops put on by Welsh National Opera and has been an active member of several other major events. Her encouragement of others to get them involved in activities is infectious as is her desire to make excellent progress in class.
