I am a nervous novice rider with only having a few lessons here and there around the country. Now relocating to the area I recently joined Stag Lodge 2 to learn to ride and improve my confidence. I absolutely love coming to the stables and having Eve C each time has made my experience enjoyable, educational but also fun. When I get nervous she reassures me constantly and knows when to push me and when not to which I am grateful for. She puts me at ease each lesson which then gives me more confidence throughout the hour. Her patience, and praise definitely helps bring out my confidence. I am now off the lunge and trotting around by myself with and without stirrups which is great. I can't wait to learn more and Eve seeing me progress. Thanks so much xx

My experience at Stag Lodge has been immensely positive. They have access to probably the best location in Richmond Park for horse riding in London. Conversely, the arenas at Stag Lodge 2 are perfect for taking lessons. I have been riding with them for over a year and have had many great instructors, especially Anna who has recently been teaching me regularly. Lastly and most importantly, the horses seem to be very well looked after.

My daughter has been learning to ride for a year and a half and I promised I would also learn so I recently started lessons. This week we both had a lesson with Hannah L. She was great - so reassuring! It was only my fourth lesson and she really helped me to feel comfortable around Prince who is very tall! She was very clear in her explanations of all the new (to me) terminology and gave scaffolded instructions which really helped me to build up my technique in this new hobby. My daughter then had her lesson and Hannah made it fun by developing activities in the arena, creating a course, teaching her transitions for dressage and practising her canter. My daughter was so happy and excited at the end of the lesson!

We’ve been having private and semi-private lessons since the beginning of the year. As adults who haven’t ridden for more years than we care to remember(!) the prospect of getting back in the saddle was a bit nerve-wracking. However, Eve has been a superb instructor. She’s extremely patient and good-natured and uses positive reinforcement to get the best out of us. We know we’re guaranteed a fun lesson with her - it’s just a pity she can’t take us on a hack! Overall, Stag Lodge 2 and all the staff get a big thumbs up from us.

My daughter has been learning riding with Tish since 2020 from age 5 with no experience. Now she has become a young confident rider. She loves Tish’s teaching and Tish is patient and always tries to make the lessons interesting. The stable staff look after the ponies well. She enjoys riding them every much.
