On the site of a Roman palace, Saxon and later church. Sheep graze over part of the graveyard and palace site - and later said to include a mass burial. Parts of the palace wall can still be seen on the road beside the church. The church includes Saxon sculpture and part of a Roman altar. There are medieval wall paintings and stone carvings. A beautiful angel roof too. Parking is tricky close to the church but on street parking is possible on the roads a little further from it.
