Was playing golf nearby and we needed somewhere to stop for food and this was the first place that came up on Google maps. So glad it did. Food was amazing and reasonably priced, staff really welcoming and kind (even gave us an extra scallop as we were sharing!) 100% recommend.

Great food at fair prices. The Eggs Royale I tried for breakfast was tasty & filling. The owner host made herself known and thus gave a very welcoming atmosphere. We shall return, possibly for a weekly breakfast!

Gorgeous restaurant, the service is fantastic and they always cater to our every need. Their menu is extensive with lots to choose from (I highly recommend the lobster!!) We always go here with our family and the whole experience is flawless from the moment we walk through the door.

Lovely looking place and comfortable seats. Staff friendly but they fetched up starter with main meal so our meals were left under the hot lights and they blamed us. Not even an apology when it was another table that had ordered a starter with their main meal. Shame.

The most amazing food in the whole of Essex ! So Fresh ! We had Surf n Turf and the Lobster was some of the most delicious we have ever tasted, cooked to perfection. The beef was melt in your mouth. They just can’t put a foot wrong. We are Australian and have eaten in some of the best seafood restaurants you can find…. But, nothing to beat what they are serving up at The Griffin ! So friendly , warm and welcoming in a tastefully refurbished old pub, we really had one of the most memorable experiences we have had in the Uk. Rest assured we will be back again and again !
