Had a group day out here on Fathers Day, 6 adults, 3 children and a baby in a push chair. All accommodated comfortably despite the rather small dinning area. We all had the Carvery which was all very enjoyable marred slightly by all the faffing with the raffle ticket per person allocation. One more member of staff would have helped move things along a bit quicker. All in all though worth a visit.

Excellent carvery lunch. We arrived at the the very end of the session; in most carverys that means a meal of meat that's dried under heat lamps for an hour or two, but here it was as succulent as if it had just come from the oven, & was really good quality too. Beef was especially good, no leathery boot soles here! Choice of pork & gammon was an extra bonus. Veg also perfect.

Lovely pub in a quiet location. Excellent quality pint of Doombar which is not always the case as other pubs don’t clean their pipes properly (so the barman said). Menu is “pub grub” and looks ok but I haven’t tried the food. Garden is pleasant with shade and some sunny spots. There is a small slide/climbing frame for children. I will have to come back and try the food!

Food was OK but nothing special. We didn't get to have a full meal. We all had our main course but when we asked for desserts we were informed that the kitchen was closed and the cook had gone home. Could have informed us it was going to close during our meal so we could have ordered everything in one go. Pub is run down and needs gutting and made to feel like a pub again. No atmosphere. Not cosy. Not exactly clean.

Waited 40 minutes. Then 10 more minutes to be invited to the carvery. Had to tell the chef that if he couldn't cut the beef I probably couldn't eat it in order to get a proper slice of beef. Were never offered more drink service. When paying we were told the Sunday Carvery senior price was not available on a Sunday!! It would be ok if we could say the food was excellent, but it was mediocre. This place is more than a tad over rated - we won't go back.
