The food is great, from cobs to pork pies to samosas and there's also a very good selection of beers and ales. The pub is also very clean, dog friendly and has a lovely little beer garden. It's a nice, relaxed atmosphere and the staff (including the licensee) are very friendly and welcoming.

Lived here 49 years and never ventured in due to its reputation, however, having seen the renovations being done through lockdowns I decided to give it a go this weekend .... I wasn't disappointed! Pleasant seating arrangements, bright and airy. Owner Pete and bar lady, Ann, were very friendly and helpful. Walk-ins welcome with full table service. Good selection of ales and gins, quart selection of ales also on offer. They serve cobs which looked lovely and if anyone remembers the old skittle alley that used to be downstairs, well, this has been turned into an Ale bar with a definite authentic Peaky look and feel. I will definitely turn soon.

Friendly local pub. Very quirky old building. Well kept and a nice selection of local beers.

Nice refurb which has given a run down pub a chance to possibly thrive again. At £4 a pint for Carling and £2.50 a cob It doesn't offer anything special enough to justify those high prices. I will go back but it certainly won't a local of mine.

It was great before I really liked the old landlord and the old staff and the atmosphere inuding the music but very recently it's been under new management which is a total shock to the system because the new staff pretty much belong in a wetherspoons sorry but the pub isn't what it used to be like a year ago it's the new staff that's really bugging me it's not the same anymore even though I didn't get to know the old staff very well I was quite happy to be around them now I want to try and avoid the new people and it's soo quiet I'm in here now 9pm Tuesday 19th July I am on my own there is no music to listen to there is no TV to watch and I don't fancy doing small talk to the bar maid because she looks the sort that would slip you something and drag you into the disabled toilets but no I tried to like it the last couple of times under new management but I simply cannot and I have not seen the regulars? So I'm sorry to say but apart from the beer the new pub is rubbish in my opinion and I will just use other local pubs but I have heard that the old landlord Pete? Runs the seven stars in Stourbridge by the train station so I will go there for my happy chatty barman fix up rather than here thanks
