Sited at the top end of the village near the Briddlesford/Station Road crossroads, the Woodmans started life as two cottages. Believed to be oldest pub in Wootton, the Woodmans Arms dates back to 1840. In recent years the Woodmans has been made into a family/pet friendly venue allowing pets in the snug, bar and garden area only (excluding restaurant area) We have an extensive garden and kids outside play area. Also well known for its food around the island the pub has recently been taken over by Isle of Wight born and bred Chefs, Harry & Ronnie Fletcher. Both hailing from the east coast of the Isle of Wight from a large family, Harry & Ronnie grew up in Sandown where they first learned about the catering trade and have been learning from it ever since, local and internationally.
As from June 2022, a price increase will unfortunately occur. With the cost of living shooting up for everyone, its no different in the wholesale world forcing us to put our prices up to continue to operate. Elliott Collisson5 StarCame here midweek in August for lunch. Cheese ploughman's excellent. Kids sausage dinner was great. Also came for Sunday roast, it was amazing. Beef, turkey or pork. Regular and large size available. Mixed available too (all 3 meats). Ice cream very well priced for the big serving, very nice flavour too. Staff polite and friendly. Pub itself beautiful and has outdoor area and playground. Good size car park with overflow. Great choice.Sunday 7th August 2022

Just had an amazing Rump steak, cooked to perfection, and for the first time EVER I ate the mushrooms, I’ve never eaten mushrooms in my life because I hate them, my husband started to eat them off my plate (to do me a favor) and said “oh my god they are the best mushrooms I’ve ever tasted” so I tried them (like the child that I am) and guess what, turns out I don’t hate mushrooms because The Woodmans cook amazing mushrooms, they were SO nice, who knew?!
My husband had the Woodmans steak special and said his meal was amazing too.
Our little black dog was happy also because they had dog biscuits on the bar and he had a couple, so all in all a very nice evening, great food, good service, dog friendly and a family run pub with a nice vibe.

Scott Storer5 StarThe woodmans Arms is a lovely Pub /Restaurant the staff where helpful and polite. It is very well laid out and the bar area is dog friendly.
There is plenty of parking out front and and noticed a nice beer garden at the rear.
Everywhere was clean and tidy including the toilets.
The meals where reasonably priced but very tasty and filling.
Well worth a visit after a day on the beach.Thursday 11th August 2022
Sharon Sandford5 StarWe had a full day planned for our final day on island & were struggling to find somewhere near our cottage for a really nice family meal. I suggested looking for somewhere near to where we were going for the day - Monkey Haven, Butterfly World & steam railway. Woodmans Arms was the first we looked at & we booked it. Food was exceptional. Pricier than some places but it was all cooked to order & delicious.Can't fault the service eitherThursday 18th August 2022

Good service very quick and friendly, the food was lovely & freshly made.
Probably slightly higher prices for a pub but i was very happy with quality vs price of my meal and the place was fully booked so i think that says a lot.
Also i would say there was a good variety on the menu.Friday 12th August 2022
