The Truro Auction Centre

The Truro Auction Centre was formed in 1990 by local Auctioneer Martyn Rowe, setting up business in the centre of Truro.

Business from the outset was extremely busy holding at least one auction a week with General Household Sales every Thursday and conducting specialised Antique & Picture Sales and Collectors Sales alternately each month.

The business moved in 2001 to Triplet Business Park, halfway between Chacewater and St. Day providing a large auction rooms with two main salerooms all on ground level with large car-parking for 150-200 cars.

We are probably twice as busy at this current venue as we ever were in the centre of Truro and throughout the course of each year we sell over 30,000 lots by auction.

The best days for entries for all sales – Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays (not 20th April) 9.00 – 5.00 or Saturday mornings 9.00 – 12.00

Auctions conducted as normal now with bidders in the Saleroom

Bidders can either :-

Attend the Auction at 10.00am – masks and social distancing optional

Leave bids with the Auctioneers who will bid on their behalf

Email bids to be received no later than 9.30am on the day of sale.

Debit card payment preferred and we will still operate a click and collect-type system for safe collection of all purchases.

On view Wednesdays 11.00am – 1.00pm & 2.00pm – 6.00pm and morning of Sale from 9.00am

My husband and I dropped in large collection of vinyl records. Didn’t hear from auction house for months. Apparently they sold them for £2.00 which didn’t cover their minimum expenses. No communication and tbh we should have thrown them in the tip. Cost us more in petrol taking them in. Would never use again and would not recommend. Feel like we have been conned.

Used to get the odd great bargain here, but now, most lots are very overpriced, I didn't even last 80 lots before I quit and got back 3 hours of my life that I would have wasted... Pretty inflexible kitchen couldn't give me anything hot that wasn't in a toasted sandwich... plenty of other Cornwall destinations to spend your time

The best auction by far! Lots of interesting items with friendly and attentive staff - who even help you load your car! 3 different auctions to attend - General, Collectors and Antique. I have bought and sold with this auction house and its always a positive experience.

We placed a large number of items in the auction, some of which had already been valued and to save the auction house time, they were put in large lots and sold for next to nothing. They were put in the generic Household sale when actually they were very old and antique, with a couple of very rare items. Very disappointed and will not use them again. Approx value of £600-£700 sold for £100 for the lot. In future will use the Penzance auction house, as the split the items individually and get the best price. Feeling very let down and incredibly disappointed. Online bidding option also not in service anymore, which reduced bids. M Rowe are long time family friends, but this was not disclosed at the time, as they didn’t know who we were. We put our trust in them. Please don’t make the same mistake that we did. We would have got more on Market Place on Facebook.
