As a student at the UoBS, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I have been presented with so many opportunities which I would have not got at my last school. The teachers are very dedicated and always offer extra time outside of lessons for any type of support.

New modern school opened only a couple years ago. Range of very good to very poor teachers and teaching methods. This place has still to make a reputation for itself as it currently lives off its name and links to University of Birmingham. So far it has a poor academic/results record. Please note going here does not guarantee a place at the University of Birmingham. It MAY be ready for a good education in 5 years time when it will be fully utilised. Research schools properly and use the league tables as a guide. I would stay away from this school for now.

One of the worst schools I have attended. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that it is a new school and they will need time to adjust and run things smoothly. However even after two years they have still not been successful. I truly believe that if I went to a better sixth form life would have been much easier Their maths lessons consisted of playing "Exam Solutions" of Youtube and when I complained , no actions was taken. However I would say this is a great school for the younger years. All of the attention is given to the year 7s and onwards - it is actually a very smart move. The younger years will be spending most of their time and at least 5 years in the school , where as the sixth form only 2 years. So it would make perfect sense to give the attention to the younger years. I believe that the school still does not know how to operate smoothly and deal with A-Level students . This is evident from the fact that most of the first year staff have decided to leave and move on or return to their old jobs. It is very disappointing for a school with such high potential. P.S next time the school should focus on improving their performance rather than forcing students to leave positive reviews as well as threatening those who leave negative ones.

Where do I start with this institution that aims to reach for the moon but is struggling to lift their foot off the ground? A so-called university school which has first-hand access to the world renowned universities' facilities but are rarely available to the students of the school. In the hope of being different and unique, obstacles arise daily. These hurdles are too high and students often stumble, disabling their potential to flourish. Flaws are endless and although this School may be new, it seems as though what was never meant to be is on the verge of disintegration. I strongly do not recommend this school if you were to join in Sixth Form. P.S Don't get the ratings mixed up, people are voting 5 stars to the University of Birmingham School for Years 7-11, if this was only for the Sixth Form, it would average slightly over 1 star.
