Voyage Care: 1 & 2 Canterbury Close

1 – 2 Canterbury Close is made up of two, five bedroom bungalows supporting up to ten adults with learning and or physical disabilities.

Facilities

Both bungalows are wheelchair accessible throughout and our bedrooms and bathrooms are fitted with tracking and hoists as many of our residents require for full support to transfer. Each of the rooms are large and have en-suite facilities. Our homes have an adapted mini-bus with tail-lift for wheelchair access.

The team

We have over 30 staff working with the people we support here at 1 – 2 Canterbury Close with a good mix of gender and age across the teams. A number of our staff have over 20 years experience working with people with learning disabilities and our staff are full equipped to support people with physical disabilities as well. We support people in a person-centred way and our staff have additional training in mental capacity, medication administration, epilepsy, dementia and diabetes training.

Many of our residents at 1 – 2 Canterbury Close have high physical dependency. Therefore staff are experienced in meeting all the needs of the people we support in matters such as personal care, dressing, tissue viability, meal preparation and feeding; this involves preparing and supporting people to eat meals in accordance with their needs.
