Our website was really old and didn't showcase the ranges from season to season. I was embarrassed by what was there but we weren't able to update it internally, so those were the key challenges we had. We just needed to stand out, images number one. We had people copying and pasting old images for their own websites which led to a lack of quality spreading out. Comparing that to what we were delivering against, it's quite odd to have a customer say “this work, it's not like it's on the website”, but the website is the one that's wrong. I had heard about your customer service, and going at the customers pace. When I first came to the office, I didn't know if it would be 10 people sat around that table with my voice not being heard in the crowd. I was pleased you guys were able to come up with concepts and original ideas and have all the experience on the artwork side whilst still having our ideas listened to. So that was a big appeal, we could just talk and that made it so much easier for us to understand. You took us down alleys you thought were dead ends to help us, I didn't think we'd get that connection, it was class. I think any missed deadlines were because of our team not getting together, but the tools you had broke it down into nice bite size chunks. It seems quite daunting as a big project, but when you get into it, it's easy. It's nice to be impressed. You know, some of the solutions were a little bit obvious, but there were loads of times where it was nice to go. Oh yeah, cool, these guys have got this.

The Tackling Child Exploitation (TCE) programme is a national programme funded by the Department for Education that seeks to draw together and amplify the best academic, professional and lived experience wisdom on responding to child exploitation. Our website is one of the main channels for presenting and sharing information on an evolving and complex issue. As such, it presents some unique challenges for creating a user experience that invites curiosity. Vuonline has been a fantastic provider who has supported the team and me to think thoughtfully about the design and build of the website. Through a series of three-year programmes of well managed scoping, briefing and design feedback loops, the team at Vuonline have continued to meet the demands and ambition of the TCE programme as we have become more established. The qualities that stand out to me the most have been the adaptability Vuonline has shown to receive initial design briefings that are quite intangible and convoluted at their embryonic stages, and worked to simplify and unpack what this would mean for the user. The outcome has been our initial vision for how we want to engage with our stakeholders has been realised.

Stuart and his team were fantastic. They made a point of developing an understanding of my business, in order to put together video footage that reflected who we are sensitively and yet powerfully.
