I had an extremely happy 25+ years career working at Charnwood Bakery. I started 1991 when the factory was quite new and so much smaller than it is now. I can remember the really old manual machines that were in place and the progression from them to the new age machines being introduced. I had the greatest, happiest and most proud career and I just wished that my daughters would be able to have a solid, secure and happy career like I had. I have a million wonderful memories and I am truly saddened to hear of the passing of Sir David Samworth. I can remember how he would personally visit "pie palace" and he would remember us and genuinely greet us and talk to us about how things are and how are we. He really did have time for his workers and his mantra made that place a great place to be and work for. I can remember so many 16 year olds joining the company way back when and now they are still there with 30+ years experience and with great positions having worked their way up from level one to management etc. I met my wife at "pie palace" and many many great friends. I have nothing but respect, love and affection for Charnwood Bakery. Best wishes 👍

Worst job application process. It’s all polish , Latvia , Romania , more European in the recruitment process. They will not let anyone come to get job from other than Eastern Europe , There is no skill based Opportunity. No chance for subcontinent or other people to work in this company. It’s wast of time anyway it’s part of Samworth brother . Its worse ,, not bothered.

I'm Temporary. Working on a line. Pre Bake, Pork Pies. Friendly Staff, Flexible Shift. Overtime if wanted. I do feel more welcome there than other places of that size. Very Good Hygiene. No complaints from me. Pay could be better all though it's the same for any work at that level. 🤨😐👍🏽 Lots of Awards displayed for Pies. 🥇🥈🏆 Champions
